As a not-for-profit community organisation we are always in need of more support. Whether that be through your engagement with our events, classes and courses; volunteering your time and skills to help us deliver them or offering financial support to keep them free / low-cost, we are grateful for your interest, generosity and kind contribution.
If you're interested in helping us to connect and inspire the local community with Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), you can find out more in the sections below about the various ways in which you can contribute.
Donors contribute to the ongoing success of Crookham HackLAB by making a single (one-off) or regular (recurring) monetary donation of any value. These funds support our activities, allowing us to purchase equipment for community use and keep our events, classes and courses free / low-cost as much as possible. Crookham HackLAB is dependent upon industry and individuals for its existence and development.
Students are those who enrol on any of our classes or courses, regardless of whether those classes or courses are free or low-cost (i.e. fee-paying). In either case, students enjoy access to a number of resources , such as:
Access to our Learning Management System (LMS)
Access to our collaboration / messaging platform
Free / subsidised textbooks and other course materials
Access to relevant hands-on equipment (e.g. microcontrollers, electronic test / measurement instruments) and the provision of free / subsidised consumables (e.g. printed circuit boards, etc.)
Facilitated exam booking (if applicable)
Please head over to our Learn section for more information on our classes / courses.
Volunteers offer their talent, ideas and enthusiasm to Crookham HackLAB, deliver our events and learning activities and continuously improve our offering. They are the lifeblood of what we do and how we provide benefit to the community. Volunteers may perform a range of duties, such as teaching a class / course, demonstrating our equipment at open days, greeting visitors and providing information, or performing administrative tasks such as responding to e-mail enquiries and maintaining our social media presence, etc.
We welcome applications from everyone, however we would especially like to hear from those who work in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) who have first-hand experience and would be willing to share their skills and expertise with our visitors and students. Please note that volunteering at Crookham HackLAB is only available to individuals aged 18 or over at this time.
If you're interested in becoming a volunteer, please click the button below in order to complete a Volunteer Enquiry Form and we'll be in touch.
Directors are legally and financially responsible and accountable for Crookham HackLAB and its operations. They are senior figures within STEM or related industries and offer their time, contacts and resources in order to govern and promote Crookham HackLAB and allow it to achieve its mission, aims and objectives. The directors also define our strategy and offering, in collaboration with our volunteers and other members of the community.
There is no 'standard' route or method to becoming a Crookham HackLAB director. Suitable candidates could include longstanding volunteers or donors / supporters with senior industry backgrounds or representing a significant corporate or fundraising interest, etc. For further information, please e-mail us at info@crookhamhacklab.org.
